Keith Quantrill

A Master Thatcher and now Independent Thatching Consultant with over 50 years experience in the craft. 

Having served a seven-year apprenticeship Keith set up his own business in 1982.
Working with all main thatching materials during the hands on part of his career, Keith went on to specialise in the repair management of traditional thatched buildings. 

Responding to a growing demand for independent advice, the consultancy arm of the business was established in 1998.

Working throughout the UK for a wide variety of both private and commercial clients providing historic assessments, condition surveys, preparing specifications for repairs and managing projects.
Client base consists of Historic England, The National Trust, local authorities, architects, brewers and home owners.

In addition to tutoring and publishing in the subject, Keith also assists with planning applications, fire risk assessments and expert witness reports.
